  Official Launch of National Cleaner Production Programme (NCCP) in Albania
The NCPP in Albania was officially launched on 30 March 2010 by UNIDO, UNEP and United Nations Resident Representative and Resident Coordinator in Albania and ECAT Tirana as the host institution for NCPP, jointly with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Energy, and the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Water Administration and the Prime Minister Office, all represented by senior officials
Representatives of the Serbian, Romanian, Moldovan and Montenegrin NCPP were also present and made a short presentation about the progress of the NCPP programme in their own countries.

Information Awareness Seminar on NCPP in Albania
Information Awareness Seminar on NCPP, targeting mainly the interested Albanian businesses took place in Tirana on March 30, 2010. During this meeting, information on the Albanian NPPC programe was provided to the businesses. Apart of the awareness raising aspect the meeting was used as a possibility to learn from the other NPPC programes in the neighboring countries.

National Consultation Workshop on Policies for Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP) in Albania
On July 6, 2010, UNEP and UNIDO and ECAT Tirana in partnership with Ministry of Environment, Forest and Water Administration and Ministry of Economy, Trade and Energy, organised the National Consultation Workshop on Policies for Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP) in Albania.
The objectives of the workshop were: to validate the findings of the national policy review and assessment; to identify existing opportunities and gaps for the promotion of Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP); and to develop consensus on the elements of the strategy for mainstreaming RECP in national policy and strategy.
Expected outcome of the workshop was to lead to a strategy document that lays down the basis for the mainstreaming of RECP in the national policy framework and facilitate the application of RECP in Albanian industries.

Technical Working Group Session on Mainstreaming Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production in Albania
The Technical Working Group Session was held on 17 November 2010, at the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Water Administration (MEFWA) with the participation of the relevant stakeholders: UN Resident Coordinator a.i. in Albania; United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP); Department of Strategy and Donor Coordination, Council of Ministers; Ministry of Environment, Forest and Water Administration (MEFWA); Ministry of Economy Trade and Energy (METE); Minister of Agriculture; Food and Consumer Protection; Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Sport; Ministry of European Integration; Nation Agency of Environment and Forest; National Agency of Natural Resources; Civil Society and Academy.
The Technical Working Group Session was organized by UNEP, UNIDO, and ECAT Tirana in partnership with MEFWA, with a purpose of discussing the possible modalities of implementing the proposed strategic measures for mainstreaming RECP in Albanian policy and strategy frameworks.

Inter - Ministerial and Donors Meeting on Mainstreaming Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production in Albania
Inter-Ministerial and Donors Meeting was held on 18 November 2010, at the Tirana International Hotel with the participation of the following stakeholders: UNDP Country Director in Albania; United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP); Department of Strategy and Donor Coordination, Council of Ministers; Ministry of Environment, Forest and Water Administration (MEFWA); Minister of Agriculture, Food and Consumer Protection; Nation Agency of Environment and Forest; USAID; SIDA ; Implementation of the National Plan for the Approximation of the Environmental Legislation (INPAEL) in Albania; European Bank for Reconstruction and Development; World Bank; Civil Society and Academy.
The Inter-Ministerial and Donors Meeting was organized by UNEP, UNIDO and ECAT Tirana in partnership with the office of the Vice Minister of MEFWA with a purpose of discussing the possible modalities of implementing the proposed strategic measures for mainstreaming RECP in Albanian policy and strategy frameworks.

The expected output from the seminars was an initial plan of implementation including the identification of the key policy instrument (s) that need to be developed for the effective promotion and implementation of RECP.

Media Seminar on Mainstreaming Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP) in Albania
On 19 November, 2010 UNEP, UNIDO and ECAT Tirana with the support of UN ONE Communication Team in Albania organised the media seminar with a purpose of informing the media about NCPP - Albania and the key strategic elements that need to be addressed on mainstreaming resource efficient and cleaner production in Albanian policy and strategy framework. The expected output from the seminar was improved understanding of the benefit of promoting RECP by the media group and further dissemination of the information to the general public.
